Being a mom is a great responsibility. Being mom to boys brings adventure that no parenting book can explain. This morning I connect with the idea that Mary, the mother of Jesus was in for adventures that would change her life forever.

With two adult sons my life has been filled with great joy. At times through the years as parents we were active in the details of their everyday lives and now we are more on the sidelines cheering them on as they are making their own decisions.

Mary provided comfort to our Lord. Her son now provides comfort for the world. The gift of Baby Jesus to the world came in the package of motherhood. Mary did not know what the years ahead would bring but she did what she could with what she had. She wrapped Jesus in her arms and began the journey. We do not know the journey ahead, but consider the simplicity of just sitting with Jesus wrapped in your arms. Not only does holding a baby calm the child it also washes over me with a sense of peace. 

Are you looking for peace and comfort? Do you need adventure? Wrap yourself up in a cuddle position with the Lord and receive the comfort and the adventure that his presence brings. Peace on earth good will to men. Oh how I love celebrating Christmas. I love being a mother and the adventures that has brought into my life.
