Can you hear the words from a parent or teacher, “You should be ashamed of yourself”? Why would someone say that to you? Guilt is used by many with a hope that confronting a behavior, may bring about change.

Today the verse that is highlighted takes I different approach with the use of the word ashamed. It is very clear in communicating what our behavior should look like when addressing the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

When we share the Good News of Jesus we can be confident in our message. If the statement is directed to you that YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF for sharing the message of Jesus! Consider this, the word of God gives power, authority and boldness to the believers that we should never be ashamed of the Gospel of Christ.

We are living in a time where being politically correct the Gospel is often watered down. Living in the land of the free we cowardly apologize for prayer, scripture or faith because we fear offending someone. The time has come to stand up for truth and righteousness.

If you share Jesus and you are scolded with the guilt trip statement that YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED. Stand tall, speak up and declare boldly Romans 1:16 “I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the power God for the salvation of everyone who believes”.
